The Law Journal encourages the submission of a range of works including articles, case notes and comments on any current legal topic. The Law Journal seeks to publish contributions that provide new insights into an area of the law.
As a guideline, a standard article is approximately 10,000 words in length (excluding footnotes), though this is subject to the Editor's discretion. Works submitted for consideration must be original contributions that have not been published previously, including on online repositories such as SSRN and institutional archives, and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
All submissions must follow the Australian Guide to Legal Citation ('AGLC') as supplemented by the UNSW Law Journal Additions to the AGLC.
Submissions are accepted in either hard copy or by electronic mail to 'law dot journal at unsw dot edu dot au' (replace 'dot' with a period and remove the spaces). Email submissions are preferred.
If a manuscript is submitted in hard copy, an electronic version of the document in Microsoft Word format (Word 97 or later) must be included on a three-and-a-half inch disk. Hard copies are to be sent to the following mailing address.
Editor - General IssueThe Editor will acknowledge receipt of all submissions.

Deadlines for the submission of manuscripts intended for publication in the Journal's two General Issues are generally in January and July. These dates are subject to the Editors' discretion. Please see the news column on the right hand side of our homepage for updates, or contact the relevant Editor for further information. Please note that the process for review usually takes between 8 and 12 weeks.
Submissions to these publications are at the invitation of the Editor. Interested authors should contact the relevant Editor to discuss a potential contribution. Note that while the Thematic Issues contain standard length articles (approximately 10,000 words), Forums contain shorter pieces (approximately 2,000 words).
