Beatriz is in her fifth year of a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Arts degree.
She currently works as a law clerk in an insurance firm and has a range of legal experience including working in immigration law, volunteering at Youth Law Australia and the Refugee Advice and Casework Service. Her interest in refugee law has also led her to serve as a managing editor for the UNSW Court of Conscience 2019 Issue about Australia’s response to asylum seekers, as well as allowed her to publish an article about the United States’ treatment of asylum seekers in the UNSW Law Journal Student Series 2020.
She likes to spend her free time rewatching movies she has already seen fifty times, experimenting with different flavours of black and herbal teas, and avoiding fast fashion clothing items at thrift stores. With a major in French Studies for her Arts degree, Beatriz will go on exchange and study in a Parisian university later in the year.
